Calexico - Calexico is undeniably one of the most influential—not to mention busiest—bands in indie music, so we leapt at the chance to have frontman Joey Burns come in to perform a rare solo set for us on the heels of their sold-out show at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Their latest album, Carried to Dust, is chock full of the band’s characteristic southwest-latin-indie-rock eclecticism—and it also wins our vote for one of the best of the year.

After dishing out a pair of EPs in 2008--"Cold War" and "New York Hospitals"--the Antlers self-released the full-length set "Hospice" in early 2009. The album tells the story of a man losing a loved one to bone cancer, and staying by her side in the hospital as she's dying.
The Los Angeles-based alt-rock band took a break from their big U.S. tour alongside Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold to do a stripped-down set in our humble studio.
